Validación de la Escala de Discriminación en la Vida Cotidiana (EDS) en escolares chilenos

Resumen

Objetivo: analizar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala de Discriminación en la Vida Cotidiana (Everyday Discrimination Scale [EDS]) en niños y adolescentes del norte de Chile entre 8 y 18 años. Método: se recogió una muestra no probabilística compuesta por 4.955 participantes entre 8 y 18 años, con una edad media de 12,8. El 50,9% fueron de sexo femenino y el 49,1% de sexo masculino. Resultados: la EDS cuenta con una estructura factorial unidimensional, con buenos indicadores de bondad de ajuste e invarianza. Su fiabilidad es adecuada tanto si se considera el Alpha de Cronbach como con el índice Omega. Se propone una versión de siete ítems. Conclusión: la EDS cuenta con las propiedades psicométricas adecuadas para utilizarse en esta población en Chile, en ambas versiones analizadas.
