Abstract

The analysis of the work of Michel Foucault has been prolific in understand his look on the occurrence of discursive statements, leaving aside the problem of the images. Although considered two separate areas and irreducible to one another, speech and image not only are complements but they also shape the historical a priori where it is possible to say something. A priori constructed by power relations, which can be understood through visual paradigms as the panopticon or as the heterotopias. What is important in Foucault's thought about the images is the crucial place of the order. As in the speech, whether the order is submitted in an oppressive manner, it can also be arranged differently.
