Abstract

We propose to reflect, from a phenomenological perspective, on the place and function of the human body within the virtuality in which contemporary societies have become (especially as a result of the present pandemic). To this end, we will first elucidate the main contribution and discovery of the phenomenological tradition regarding the thematization of the body, that is, we will focus on the distinction between Leib and Körper, announcing both their differences and their limitations. Secondly, we will highlight a particularly delicate concept in Husserlian architecture, namely, the theorization of empathy (Einfühlung) as an intentional act of recognition of other human bodies. From this contextualization, we will try to answer the problem that opens the digitalization of bodies, which have become body-images.
